Welcome to the December 1910 Centenary Blog

This blog is designed to report on events, activities and material from history, culture and the arts, relating to the December 1910 Centenary Conference at the University of Glasgow on 10-12 December 2010. The conference is being organised by the Scottish Network for Modernist Studies and the British Association of Modernist Studies. Over 100 speakers will be travelling to Glasgow from all over the UK and the rest of the world to deliver papers from across many disciplines responding to Virginia Woolf's famous statement that 'on or about December 1910, human character changed. Welcome

Welcome to the 1910 Centenary Blog. This week sees a flurry of online activity for the 1910 Centenary Conference: registration goes live on Tuesday 24 August and the website for the conference is being overhauled at the same time. This posting also represents the inauguration of the 1910 Centenary Blog. A dedicated team of bloggers will be reporting on events from the conference as they happen, but in the run up to the conference a series of postings on matters relating to 1910 and the conference themes has been planned. Check back for updates or subscribe to our RSS feed.
